The Shuangliang Flue-gas Fired Absorption Chiller (FFAC) is a highly energy-efficient cooling solution that uses heat from flue gas to produce cooling. With a cooling capacity ranging from 350 to 6,890 kW and the ability to operate using flue gas with a temperature of 250°C or higher, the FFAC is a versatile option for commercial and industrial settings.

The FFAC uses water as a refrigerant and lithium bromide as an absorbent and is made up of a high-pressure generator, low-pressure generator, condenser, evaporator, absorber, and heat exchanger. It also includes auxiliary parts such as a vacuum pump, purging unit, and canned motor pumps for the solution and refrigerant.

This chiller is particularly well-suited for cogeneration or trigeneration applications, where it can help to reduce the use of electricity, lower operating costs, and balance peak and valley loads. It is also suitable for use in central air conditioning systems and industrial processes.

Depending on the site conditions and user requirements, the flue gas chiller can be designed to work with supplementary heat sources to provide more flexible functions. These include:

  1. Flue gas chiller + engine jacket water (supplementary heat): This is called a flue gas combined hot water chiller, and it can recover the maximum amount of waste heat from the engine, providing the most cooling capacity and achieving the highest system thermal efficiency.
  2. Flue gas chiller + direct-fired burner (supplementary heat): This is called a flue gas combined make-up burner chiller. The direct-fire burner can be used as a backup energy source in case flue gas is not available, or if the flue gas heat amount is not sufficient to generate enough cooling capacity.
  3. Flue gas chiller + steam (supplementary heat): This is called a flue gas combined steam chiller, and it is suitable for any site with a surplus steam supply. The steam can provide extra cooling capacity or act as a backup energy input when flue gas is not available.

Other combinations, such as flue gas chiller + jacket water + burner and flue gas + jacket water + steam, are also possible.
