Cyclect Group, a leading provider of engineering solutions, has been awarded the Green Technology Award (SME Category) at the Singapore Sustainability Awards 2012. The award was presented to the company by Minister of Trade and Industry Iswaran and SBF CEO Ho Meng Kit, recognizes the company’s efforts in reducing carbon emissions through their green technology solutions and their commitment to sustainability as a way of life.
For over 12 years, Cyclect has been developing and implementing technology that recovers waste heat from power generation processes. These solutions, known as Cogeneration and Trigeneration, provide customized and scalable energy solutions for their clients in the marine, oil and gas, alternative energy, and process industries. Their green technology offerings include power generation (30KW to 50MW), cooling systems (3 Rtons to 2000 Rtons), and dehumidification.
Cyclect introduced absorption chillers to the local waste heat recovery market in 2000 and has since played a key role in spreading the use of Cogeneration and Trigeneration plants as more efficient forms of distributed power generation. Their green technology installations have reduced up to 16,000 tons of carbon dioxide emissions per year.
In addition to promoting sustainable energy solutions to their clients, Cyclect also practices what they preach by advocating the use of green technology in their own facilities. They have developed products and solutions based on sustainable and energy-efficient designs, and have implemented their proprietary solar air-conditioning system in their office space, resulting in a 20% reduction in energy costs.
